Subhash Chand Thakur Founder of Da Freak Cafe & Resto & Creator behind realmrthakur28.com
Hi, I’m Subhash Chand Thakur! Welcome to my little corner of the internet. My culinary journey started in 2008 as a kitchen helper at The Aroma in Chandigarh. Fueled by a deep passion for food, I pursued a B.Sc. in Hospitality from PTU Jalandhar. By the time I graduated in 2012, I had worked my way up to 1st Commis Chef. Just a year later, in 2013, I stepped into my first role as Executive Head Chef at one of Chandigarh’s most renowned hotels.
In 2016, my career took me to Singapore, where I served as Head Chef and expanded my global culinary perspective. However, my ultimate dream was always to build something of my own. In 2020, I took the leap, left the corporate kitchen world, and launched my own brand: *Da Freak Cafe & Resto*, which now proudly serves food lovers across Maharashtra and Chandigarh.> "My goal is to inspire you with food that is both approachable and exciting—whether you’re cooking for yourself, your family, or your friends."
In this space, I share the exact recipes I love to make and eat in my real, everyday life. My philosophy is simple: *if I wouldn’t eat it myself, it doesn’t make it onto the blog.*I want to get you so excited about cooking that you genuinely look forward to 5:00 PM, just so you can head home and start experimenting in the kitchen.Beyond the Kitchen
When I’m not developing new recipes or running my cafes, you can find me enjoying the simple pleasures of life. I live in Chandigarh with my incredible family: my wife Maddy, our son Zayden, our daughter Siffat, and our two beloved dogs, Ivor and Sweety. My absolute favorite things? A big, comforting bowl of miso soup on a rainy day, and taking off on travel adventures with my lovely wife.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story. This community thrives on shared love for good food, and I would love to see what you're cooking up! * *Tag your creations:* If you try one of my recipes, tag realmrthakur28.com in your food photos and stories so I can see and share them!
